Check Yo-self Every time you come back into the house make sure to take off your jacket and your boots by the door. brush yourself off before you come inside. kick your shoes on the mat and get mud off. These are good habits to get into anyway and help with cleanliness. Take a shower every night and check yourself for ticks. Sanitize regularly. Put your clothes in a basket in a room that's not where you sleep such as your bedroom. 3. Bad foundation/ damage: If Your home has any form of consistent water leaks make sure you repair those as pests are attracted to water. If you have water damage to wood or moist wood then that is also a very attractable home for pests. If you have holes in your walls then patch them. Clean Up Food and Water: When your making coffee in the morning if your pouring sugar in your coffee make sure to wipe down your countertop as to leave no residue. Throw your coffee grains away. Clean up food off the floor. If you have fish or meat then make sure you put it in a resealable bag, put it in the freezer and check on it regularly or use it with haste as to make sure it doesn't go back. Throw away rotten fruit. Seal all foods in plastic bags your not eating. (they'll go stall anyways) 5. Check Your Pets Consistently: We all love our pets. We love to cuddle them and play with them. So make sure that when they come back inside and your petting them that you check them for any nasty critters they brought in with them. Also if your animal is dirty or has been playing in the mud you would want to clean them and brush them anyway if your a good owner. 6. Check Your Children Consistently: Our little ones also should be taken care of routinely. They are not old enough to understand the gravity of there choices. That's not there fault. There only job right now is to look cute. Children are generally bad detectives of ticks on there body and if you have a very young child then you may be giving them a bath or shower. make sure to check and to put there clothes directly in a closed hamper in a outside room. Stress to your young one the importance of taking off there shoes when they enter the house and make sure that they closed the doors all the way.
